This trend not only signifies a shift in value orientation but also opens a new dialogical space within religious discourse on social media. This study aims to examine how TikTok functions as a platform for da‘wah dialogue on marriage through content creators’ responses to the issue. Employing a qualitative approach with an interpretative content analysis method, this research analyzes a selection of the most popular videos featuring the “Marriage Is Scary” narrative and the da‘wah-oriented responses that emerge as counter-narratives. The findings reveal that TikTok provides an interactive space for young people to articulate their fears and personal experiences, while simultaneously offering opportunities for digital preachers to present religious perspectives that are moderate, solution-oriented, and grounded in prophetic values. Effective da‘wah in this context tends to adopt persuasive, empathetic, and narrative communication styles, emphasizing the wisdom of marriage in Islam without disregarding the social realities faced by adolescents and young adults. This study underscores that social media, particularly TikTok, is not merely an arena for entertainment, but also a dialogical space for da‘wah that can bridge the gap in religious literacy among the digital generation, especially concerning sensitive issues such as fear of marriage.
Zakiyah Romadlany Copyright (c) 2026 Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal 2026-01-30 2026-01-30 1 1 1 11 Modernizing Da'wah Through Animated Films in the Digital Era https://jurnal.alfithrah.ac.id/index.php/iccj/article/view/1268
The development of information and communication technology has brought significant changes to the practice of Islamic da'wah. Da'wah is no longer limited to conventional methods such as face-to-face lectures, but has evolved through the use of more creative and adaptive digital media. This article aims to examine the modernization of da'wah through the use of animated films in the digital era as an effective medium for conveying Islamic messages, especially to the digital native generation. This research uses a literature study method by reviewing various books, journal articles, and scientific sources relevant to digital da'wah and animated media. The results of the study indicate that animated films have great potential as a da'wah medium because they can present religious messages in an engaging, educational, and easily accessible manner without the constraints of space and time. Furthermore, the visual and narrative characters in animated films can build emotional appeal and influence the character formation of audiences, especially children and the younger generation. Thus, animated films can be seen as a relevant and strategic form of da'wah modernization in responding to the challenges and opportunities of da'wah in the digital era.
Mohammad Fauzi Izzatul Muslimah Fitriyah Copyright (c) 2026 Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 1 1 12 21 The Effectiveness of Organizational Communication In The Perspective Neoclassical Theory: A Case Study of The Annuqayah Lubangsa Selatan Putri Islamic Boarding School https://jurnal.alfithrah.ac.id/index.php/iccj/article/view/1251
Fika Mayani Layal Marosha Elfitraini Zadie Selly Oktaviani Copyright (c) 2026 Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 1 1 22 32 Transformation of Understanding Religion and Media: A Reception Study on Parenting for the Beta Generation in Surabaya https://jurnal.alfithrah.ac.id/index.php/iccj/article/view/1270
This study examines the transformation of religious understanding in the context of parenting the Beta generation, a generation born in the post-digital era with a high dependence on technology. Key challenges include the fragmentation of digital information and the gap in understanding between generations. This research contributes to the development of practical guidance for parents in integrating religious values with technology-based parenting.
Fitri Nafiatus Saidah Copyright (c) 2026 Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 1 1 33 42 Resonance of Islamic Values on Environmental Conservation through Religious Communication in the Context of Global Climate Change in Probolinggo https://jurnal.alfithrah.ac.id/index.php/iccj/article/view/1250
Climate change constitutes a global challenge that requires not only technological and policy-based responses but also value-oriented and spiritual engagement. This qualitative study examines the resonance of Islamic values on environmental preservation through religious communication in the context of global climate change, focusing on Probolinggo Regency, East Java. Using a phenomenological case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving religious leaders, environmentally affected community members, and local policy actors. The findings indicate that Islamic values such as khalifah (human stewardship of the earth) and amanah (moral responsibility) are actively communicated through sermons, religious gatherings, and informal religious forums. These values function as ethical narratives that resonate with the community by shaping ecological awareness and moral reflection regarding environmental degradation. Religious messages emphasizing the prohibition of environmental harm (la darar), justice (‘adl), and moderation (anti-israf) contextualize climate-related issues such as coastal erosion and land degradation experienced locally. The study also reveals a gap between the normative transmission of Islamic environmental values and their translation into sustained collective action. While religious communication succeeds in fostering moral awareness, its resonance remains uneven due to socio-economic, structural, and institutional constraints. This study argues that strengthening the resonance of Islamic values requires their integration into religious education, community-based communication strategies, and environmentally responsive public policies. Effective religious communication can transform Islamic values into practical ecological ethics, reinforcing Islam’s role as rahmatan lil ‘alamin and contributing to climate resilience and environmental justice in Indonesia.
Wahyuli Romadotul Husnah Serly Amriya Hairiyati Ahmad Fuad Abdul Baqi Copyright (c) 2026 Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal 2026-01-31 2026-01-31 1 1 43 53
