About the Journal

USROTUNA: Journal of Islamic Family Law and Islamic Family Ethics is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on the study of Islamic family law and Islamic family ethics from normative, empirical, social, cultural, and contemporary perspectives. The journal publishes research articles, conceptual articles, literature reviews, and critical studies that contribute to the development of scholarly thought and academic discourse on Islamic family law and Islamic family ethics.

USROTUNA welcomes scholarly studies employing various approaches, including Islamic law, fiqh, usul al-fiqh, maqasid al-shari'ah, positive law, sociology of law, anthropology, gender studies, family psychology, education, and other relevant interdisciplinary approaches. The journal covers issues concerning marriage, divorce and family dispute resolution, rights and responsibilities within the family, inheritance and family property, protection of women and children, Islamic family ethics, gender and family relations, family resilience, contemporary family issues, comparative Islamic family law, and textual and intellectual studies of Islamic family law and family ethics.

The articles of this journal are published 3 times a year, in February, June, October.

From the beginning of its publication in 2026, USROTUNA has been registered with Crossref. All articles published by USROTUNA are assigned a DOI number.
