About the Journal
Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal (ICCJ) is a peer-reviewed international academic journal dedicated to advancing critical and interdisciplinary scholarship on Islamic communication, media, and civilization in the context of contemporary global transformations.
ICCJ provides an intellectual platform for scholars, researchers, and practitioners to explore how Islamic values, narratives, symbols, and communication practices interact with social change, digital technologies, cultural dynamics, and global public discourse. The journal aims to move beyond normative and doctrinal discussions by encouraging analytical, theoretical, and empirical studies that engage Islam as a living, communicative, and civilizational force.
The journal welcomes original research articles that examine Islamic communication within diverse contexts, including but not limited to digital media, artificial intelligence, globalization, ethics, cultural studies, identity formation, and post-religious or post-traditional societies. ICCJ is particularly interested in works that address emerging challenges and opportunities faced by Muslim communities in navigating technological innovation, media transformation, and shifting patterns of religious authority and meaning-making.
ICCJ adopts an interdisciplinary approach, drawing from communication studies, media and cultural studies, sociology, anthropology, religious studies, philosophy, and related fields. By integrating these perspectives, the journal seeks to contribute to global academic conversations on religion, communication, and civilization, while fostering critical reflection on the future of Islamic communication in an increasingly complex and digitized world.
All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. ICCJ is published periodically and is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, and scholarly excellence in accordance with international publishing norms.
