Plagiarism Policy

Islamic Communication and Civilization Journal (ICCJ), published by Institut Al Fithrah Surabaya, is committed to maintaining academic integrity and ethical standards in scholarly publishing. All manuscripts submitted to ICCJ are subject to plagiarism screening as part of the journal's editorial review process.

Before proceeding to the peer-review stage, submitted manuscripts may be checked for similarities with previously published works and other sources using appropriate plagiarism detection software or similarity-checking tools. The screening process is conducted to identify potential plagiarism, substantial text overlap, duplicate publication, and other forms of inappropriate use of previously published material.

Authors are fully responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original and that all ideas, statements, data, quotations, and materials derived from other sources are properly acknowledged and cited. Any use of another author's work without appropriate attribution may be considered a violation of academic and publication ethics.

If a manuscript is found to contain plagiarism or substantial unattributed similarity, the editorial team may take appropriate action based on the severity of the case. Such actions may include requesting clarification or revision, rejecting the manuscript, or taking further measures in accordance with the journal's publication ethics and editorial policies.

For manuscripts that have already been published, if plagiarism or significant unethical text reuse is subsequently identified, ICCJ reserves the right to investigate the case and take appropriate corrective action, which may include issuing a correction, expression of concern, or retraction where warranted.

ICCJ encourages all authors, reviewers, and editors to uphold the principles of academic honesty, originality, transparency, proper attribution, and responsible scholarly communication.

The plagiarism screening process is applied consistently to manuscripts submitted to ICCJ to protect the integrity of the journal, its authors, reviewers, and the wider academic community.
