Publication Ethic

KHIDMATUNA: Jurnal Pengabdian Masyarakat is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. This statement applies to all parties involved in the publication process, including editors, reviewers, authors, and the publisher.

Duties of Editors

Editors are responsible for evaluating submitted manuscripts fairly, objectively, and without discrimination. Editorial decisions are based on the relevance of the manuscript to the journal’s focus and scope, originality, academic quality, and peer-review results.

Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts, avoid conflicts of interest, and take appropriate action when publication misconduct is suspected.

Duties of Reviewers

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, critically, and constructively. They are required to maintain confidentiality, avoid using unpublished information for personal benefit, and disclose any potential conflict of interest.

Reviewers should also notify the editor if they identify suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct.

Duties of Authors

Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, accurate, and ethically prepared. Manuscripts must not have been previously published or simultaneously submitted to another journal.

Authors must:

  1. present data and community service results honestly and accurately;

  2. properly acknowledge and cite all sources;

  3. avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and data manipulation;

  4. ensure that all listed authors have made a substantial contribution to the manuscript;

  5. disclose any potential conflicts of interest; and

  6. promptly inform the editor if significant errors are discovered after publication.

Plagiarism and Originality

All submitted manuscripts may be screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts containing plagiarism, duplicate publication, or other forms of academic misconduct may be rejected.

If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may issue a correction, retraction, or other appropriate editorial action.

Conflict of Interest

Editors, reviewers, and authors must disclose any financial, personal, institutional, or other relationships that may affect the objectivity of the publication process.

Anyone with a significant conflict of interest concerning a manuscript should not be involved in its evaluation or editorial decision.

Ethics in Community Service Activities

Authors must ensure that community service activities involving individuals, communities, institutions, or vulnerable groups are conducted ethically and responsibly.

The rights, dignity, privacy, safety, and informed consent of participants must be respected. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the reported activities do not cause harm to the community or participating partners.

Corrections and Retractions

If significant errors or ethical violations are identified after publication, KHIDMATUNA may publish a correction, expression of concern, or retraction, depending on the nature and seriousness of the issue.

KHIDMATUNA follows the principles and best practices recommended by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) in handling publication ethics and misconduct.
