This study aims to describe and analyze how the principal of SMAN 2 Pasuruan applies management functions as an agent of change in strengthening religious moderation. Religious moderation refers to a balanced and tolerant religious attitude that upholds the values of peace and harmony within diversity. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach, using observation, interviews, and documentation as data collection techniques.
The findings indicate that the principal plays a crucial role in fostering an inclusive and moderate school environment through program planning, activity organization, policy implementation, and supervision in promoting values of tolerance and religious harmony. The principal also serves as a role model, motivator, and facilitator in internalizing moderation values among the school community through both curricular and extracurricular activities. Strategies applied include collaborative approaches, exemplary leadership, value transformation, and the cultivation of a peaceful and harmonious school culture.
Thus, the principal's management as an agent of change has proven to be strategically significant in promoting religious moderation within SMAN 2 Pasuruan as part of the effort to develop a tolerant, inclusive, and morally upright generation.
