GenAI Policy Statement

Jurnal TARBAWI permits the responsible use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and AI-assisted tools provided that their use is transparent, ethical, and appropriately disclosed. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, validity, citations, ethical compliance, and integrity of all content submitted to the journal. Generative AI tools cannot be listed or credited as authors or co-authors.

Permitted Use

Authors may use GenAI or AI-assisted tools for limited supporting purposes, including: language editing and improvement; grammar and spelling correction; translation; improvement of readability and clarity; and data visualization assistance, provided that the tools do not fabricate, alter, or manipulate research findings. All substantive intellectual contributions, interpretations, arguments, and conclusions remain the responsibility of the authors.

Prohibited Use

• The following practices are prohibited: presenting AI-generated content as original scholarly work without disclosure; using GenAI to fabricate or manipulate research data or findings; including fabricated or unverifiable AI-generated references or citations; using AI-generated information without appropriate verification by the authors; and listing an AI tool as an author or co-author.

Disclosure Requirements

Authors who use GenAI or AI-assisted tools beyond basic spelling and grammar correction must provide a “Generative AI Usage Statement” before the References section. The statement should identify the name of the AI tool, the purpose for which it was used, and the extent of its contribution to manuscript preparation. Basic spelling, grammar, and conventional proofreading tools do not require disclosure.
